On February 24, 2026, the Municipality of Ramon Magsaysay underwent a one-day Onsite Validation for the Gender-Responsive Local Government Unit Assessment Tool (GeRL) conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) through North Mindanao Field Office (NMFO). The activity aimed to assess the level of gender responsiveness of its basic services and the extent of institutionalization of gender and development mainstreaming within the local government unit.
Present during the onsite validation were Margie Am. Machon as the Chairperson of GAD Focal Point System (GADFPS), Ms. Rheamar Andilab-Talib, GAD Focal Person, GADFPS ExeCom, MLGOO-Ramon Magsaysay, and other key stakeholders. Representing the PCW were A1C Gregory Louis Cadeatan Magbanua, PAFR, CFMP, GAD Specialist II, and Patricia Mae L. Mabalos, Senior GAD Specialist of NMFO.
The activity demonstrated the commitment of the Municipality of Ramon Magsaysay to promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive governance. The LGU’s initiatives reflect its continuing efforts to align local programs with national gender and development standards and to ensure that policies and services are responsive to the needs of women, men, and marginalized sectors in the community.
